Statement

I am an artist who mainly makes easel paintings. For me, creation is also a handicraft. The action of leaving traces itself is lonely, which leads me to think about the relationship between traces and vague emotions in an artwork. I have used oil painting, but since 2016, I started to use acrylic paints and scumble. I dilute acrylic paints with a lot of water to let the color in the background leak out naturally so that every trace can be shown clearly on canvas. I try to strengthen the main body of my painting and weaken details to emphasize my emotion. In 2023 I began to try to combine rice paper and acrylic paint, and after experimentation, the collision of the two presented many surprises. These actions highlight the traces in the painting and provide a big support for the conception of contradiction in painting. To me, loneliness is the beginning of thinking. I direct the painting, and at the same time, the traces in the painting direct me as well.
